Christine Christiansen Desjarlais began her dance training at the Carole Mille Dance Center in Taunton more than 50 years ago, and is a certified member of Dance Masters of America Chapter #5, Dance Teachers Club of Boston and the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Club. While at Bridgewater State College, she started her professional career in community theater at the Zeiterian Theatre in her first role as Kristine in 'A Chorus Line' and soon moved to New York City. After becoming a member in the Actors Equity Association, she performed in such shows as 'West Side Story,' '42nd Street,' and 'Sweet Charity.' She also performed at Harrah's Casino in New Jersey and worked as a make-up artist for 'Faces Magazine.' She then went on to teach at Oklahoma City University and taught master classes fir Dance Masters of America in Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Texas. You have seen her choreography and students perform for 20 consecutive years at the local 'Miss Taunton Pageant.' She has held ten pageant titles including the title of 'Miss Taunton 1985,' and has judged and choreographed local pageants in the 'Miss America System,' 'Miss Teen USA,' 'Miss Hemisphere Pageants,' and many dance competitions across the country.
